Accompanist
  • I am a sympathetic accompanist, particularly favoured by singers, who often say that I seem to be "singing the piece with them".
  • I regularly accompany children and adults for Associate Board and Trinity music exams. As a teacher myself, I am able to help candidates, many of whom have not played with the piano part before, to polish their performances and I aim to give them confidence for the exam. Of course, I respect their teacher's instructions, and will only advise with regard to fitting their own part with the accompaniment.
  • I am an experienced pianist for RAD ballet exams, and was a dance pianist at Elmhurst for 20 years.
Pianist

When performing music I want to 'speak' to people, to touch something deep within. Although I am sometimes seen as a Baroque specialist, I enjoy playing Chopin and Rachmaninov too!

Although these days I do not have much time to play in public, I have performed in a variety of styles Bach to Beatles. I regard myself as a Mozart specialist, having performed many of his sonatas and other pieces, including the concertos no.23 in A, K488 (3 times) and no.19 in F, K459.
